St. Patrick’s Day snuck up on us so quickly this year! I get it — with two little ones at home, working, writing and coaching, I have been avoiding anything green in sight. I try to stay ahead on holiday crafts, but this go-around, I needed a last minute activity that wouldn’t take up any time and required little clean-up.
This rainbow stamping craft is very simple and hardly requires an effort, yet still teaches colors as well as fine motor skills. With just a couple of materials, we had this project prepped and completed within 20 minutes.
These adorable rainbows will look like they took more time to make than they actually did AND you can say you did something mostly St. Patrick’s Day related. It also gives the room a nice Springtime feel!
You Will Need:
Crayons – Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple
Washable Paint – Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple
6 Wine Corks
Sheet(s) of paper
1. Draw the lines for the rainbow on a blank sheet of paper, leaving enough space between each for room to stamp.
2. Prep the paint colors to dip the corks in.
(I just put a dab of paint in the caps)
Making Your Rainbow
1. Take a cork and dip end into paint.
2. Starting from the top, stamp the cork end along the line of matching color. Repeat for remaining lines.
When you’re finished, simply allow the paint to dry and let your colors shine! You can also draw a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow afterwards for additional visuals!
Let me know if you liked this craft and if it worked well for you!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
